Murwillumbah Art Trail 2018: Moving On
The fourth annual Murwillumbah Art Trail 2018 (MAT18) transforms Murwillumbah by showcasing our vibrant arts community.
Murwillumbah becomes the canvas and the context, embracing painting, performance, sculpture, film, dance, street celebrations, food, wine and much more.
Moving On reflects the aftermath of the flood, the resilience of the community and the capacity for art to heal. It goes further than that, though.
Moving On can apply to everyone, in all stages of their lives, for better or for worse. We invite artists and performers to address the 2018 theme with the ingenuity and engagement that allowed our community to deal with the aftermath of the flood.
While art has the capacity to reflect and put things into place, it's also a lot of fun. Our sense of humour makes us survivors.
We invite you to immerse yourself in the Murwillumbah Art Trail, sink into the atmosphere of excitement and fun as you rediscover what our town has to offer.
As we consider Moving On in all its meanings.
You can contribute to MAT18. Help us revitalise our town with art and community, celebration and a nod to last year's flood. Donations are tax deductible and we ask our patrons and followers - you - to give just a little. Although we have gratefully received funding from Destination NSW, Tweed Shire Council and in-kind support from multiple sponsors, every bit helps.
The Murwillumbah Art Trail is becoming a flagship event and a small donation is amplified by its smart use.
